Cell Phone Resources

 Cell Phone Policy at BUHS

Cell Phone Use – Students and staff are not permitted to use cell phones and smart watches during instructional time, advisory, or in the library. Cell phones may be used during passing times and during lunch. Students will be placing their cell phones in the teacher-designated area until the end of class. Students are not allowed to take their phones to the bathroom. If a student refuses to put their cell phone away, teachers will contact administration for support.

In the event of a student not turning in a phone, the following procedure will be followed:

The first incident: Warning will be issued if a student refuses to turn in their phone; this will be documented in Educators Handbook with no action taken.

The second incident: The student will turn their phone into an administrator and it will be kept in the administration office for the remainder of the day; the student can pick it up after school.

The third incident: The student will turn their phone in to the administration office and a parent/guardian will need to pick up their phone at the end of the school day.

If a student refuses to comply with the expectations of the procedure, the parent/guardian will be called to pick up their student for the remainder of the day.
