What are Transferable Skills?
At BUHS, transferable skills are a broad set of knowledge, skills, and work habits that we believe are critically important to success in today’s world. Our requirement for students to demonstrate these transferable skills is also based on conversations with local employers about skills they feel are important for employees.
BUHS students must be able to document proficiency in each of these skills four times during their high school career in order to graduate. Students are able to demonstrate proficiency in these transferable skills through successful completion of their classwork in BUHS courses. The BUHS graduation requirement for transferable skills is documented demonstration of each transferable skill twice in the 9th and 10th grade years, and twice again in the 11th and 12th grade years, for a total of four demonstrations of each skill during a student's high school career. |
